Werosys’ DNA is intelligent converting. This implies designing machines with a clear focus on automation through Industry 4.0, which includes cloud computing and Internet of Things (IoT).
IoT allows the Compact to be controlled remotely through existing network infrastructure. This means that by integrating the Werosys line, the customer’s IT infrastructure and Werosys cloud servers, we are able to provide you with intelligent converting, resulting in improved efficiency, higher accuracy and essentially economic benefit.
The Werosys lines are not only ready for Industry 4.0 and IoT; our entire machines, down to the smallest component, are designed according to Industry 4.0 requirements. Thus we are already taking full advantage of this by allowing real time monitoring of the machine, full remote control, as well as consolidation of machine and job data in the cloud.
The collected data can be used not only to locate a problem, but by analysing the data we can anticipate breakdowns and thereby schedule preventative maintenance. It also allows us to collect data about the machine and provide reports about machine efficiency, waste levels, and make recommendations for future improvements.
As oppose to others, the baseline of our production line is not the hardware but the digital domain. As a result, our equipment can be changed or upgraded via software and we perform remote service, troubleshooting and implement new functionalities via the Internet. We do not design our label converting lines with a number of panels to configure independently for every job change – instead we control everything from the central PLC/HMI. The result is a completely automatic job change-over and minimal operator involvement.
A future-proof investment
Investing in a Werosys converting line is a strategic long-term investment. Based on double-sided stainless construction – predominantly using anodized aluminium and stainless steel, the Werosys converting line is built to last. All our machines are designed in a completely modular design enabling us to continuously offer new functionality via software upgrades and add new modules as requirements change or new technology becomes available. We believe this is the best way to future-proof our customers’ investment.
We believe that 100% use of servo drives in web handling is the only way to provide superior accuracy at high speeds, enabling full remote troubleshooting and low maintenance costs. For these reasons, you will not see powder clutches or mechanical brakes in any web handling process on a Werosys converting line.
By controlling all unit operations from one central PLC/HMI, we have one place that controls everything – from selecting varnish, importing the die cut shape to the laser, adjusting the automatic knife system, and setup the rewinders. All of which, significantly reduces job change-over times and leads to minimal operator involvement.
Ultimately we provide customers with a solution for optimised production, resulting in reduced waste, reduced costs, quicker job change-overs and enhanced capacity of their Werosys line – or simply put:: Intelligent converting – intelligent business.
